Merry Christmas!
We spent it in Newport Beach with Brian's Family...and in Las Vegas for the
BYU game against UCLA...some of you might have seen it? The blocked field goal?
Anyway, I will post pictures of Thanksgiving soon...and Christmas pictures of everyone..
to keep the family blog going this year. Annie will be having her baby this week...Jack Fielding.
And Matt comes home at the end of March from his mission in Argentina...and our baby boy is due on Febuary 16th! We will for sure decide his name when we see him...but we've picked out two. And Susi's birthday is Dec.31st! Everyone have a Happy New Year! Love, Karen

My Gastro Bypass surgery date is set for May 2. Seems like a long time to wait but it will give me time to learn how to drink one swallow at a time, exercise, and eat all the fruits and vegetables I want, after the surgery it will be a while until I can eat fruits and vegetables. I hope to be on soft foods at least by the time of the reunion.

The family unit is forever, and you should do everything in your power to strengthen that unit. In your own family, encourage family home evenings and be an active participant. Encourage family prayer... Your most important friendships should be with your own brothers and sisters and with your father and mother. Love your family. Be loyal to them. Have a genuine concern for your brothers and sisters. Help carry their load so you can say, as in the lyrics of that song, "He ain't heavy; he's my brother." -Ezra Taft Benson

Happy Birthday to David today!! We can talk trash about David because he has never posted on our family blog nor any of his descendants. So who knows if he will even know that his dear, loving, thoughtful family sent him birthday wishes today. So please post any stories about David that you think celebrates Davids existence. One of the funniest things I remember about David is 2 broken ankles in my pink play high heels. Some women have problems walking in heels but David is in touch with his feminine side. He can leap brick walls in heels in the rain. He could have auditioned for Tootsie. Maybe this will help him feel compelled to add to our family blog.
Have a Happy Birthday today David.

Happy Birthday to Jan today!! She's 31 and standing!! Why 31? Because she's 10 years older than me and I'm 21!! Thank you Jan for your fun loving spirit, the long visits on the phone, and the example you have set for me as a wife, Mom, and Grandmother. Have a wonderful day today!! I love you !!

UPDATE!! FAMILY REUNION!! LOTS OF FUN!! FAMILY BONDING TIME!!
The Vernal temple will be closed 7/29 for 2 weeks and will be closed 7/24. Dad and Marty will work the morning shift on Wednesday 7/25. Dad suggested that anyone that is in town could go to the morning session at the Temple on Wednesday, go get some luch at some nice place like the golden arches and then back up to the mountain. So we can start the reunion anytime after 7/20/07 so poll your families and see what works and let me know so everyone can make arrangements. I hope everyone will attend.

Christmas Day at Langfords house was really fun, we had fondu and Pascual made his famous shrimp salsa, it was so good. Can't believe we are all actually out here together in the Midwest...who would have thought?! All the Arizonans trying to survive the winter! But it is awesome we all live close again. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I have upgraded our blog so when you log in it will prompt you to upgrade so follow the directions and you will be fine. It is so easy to upload pictures now. You are seeing a picture of my first chicken pot pie that I have ever made. My cooking skills are improving by leaps and bounds as it's one of my new wifely duties . One of those things I could live without when I was single. Paul is a great cook so he is patient eating what ever is presented on the menu for the evening, burnt, not quite cooked, or bland. He's a real trooper.
You'll notice we have a new background, to accommodate feeble eyes. If you still have problems let me know. This past Saturday Paul and I drove to Mesa and had a great visit with Dad, Maty, Jill and Craig. I was mad I forgot my camera. Thank you for the oranges, they are sooo sweet! We hope to make it a standing monthly visit with whats left of the family in Mesa. I'm planning my 2007 year and I see it's the year for the Feltch family reunion. I feel strongly that we need to keep this tradition. It seems that it's always been around the July 24th weekend so everyone look at your calanders and let me know what works for you. Since our last reunion we have babies to celebrate, additions by marriage, and kids grow like weeds. Dad & Marty look at your schedules and let me know when it will work for ya'll to have us all up at the cabin.

"How is Christmas regarded today? The legend of Santa Claus, the Christmas tree, the decorations of tinsel and mistletoe, and the giving of gifts all express to us the spirit of the day we celebrate; but the true spirit of Christmas lies much deeper than these. It is found in the life of the Savior, in the principles He taught, in His atoning sacrifice--which become our great heritage." Howard W. Hunter

Chicago had over 6 inches of snowfall yesterday...we had to gear up for winter...you know, go buy shovels, earmuffs and icescrapers...things I never dreamed I would have to do. Brian got called to be the new Young Men's president and also enrolled at Benedicine University for an MBA program. He has almost finished his first class...and then will be working on his ING Business Plan for next year. They just named a new CEO so the pressure is on. I got a new job at Korcare Spa in Downer's Grove...just opened this winter. Heather, Levi and Kendyll will be out to stay with us for 2 weeks at Christmas and then the Nichols will be here the day after...as they make their big move to Milwaukee!

So this past weekend we went to see our favorite comedian Brian Regan at Rosemont theater with the Chicago fam (Dale and Julie, Annie and Charlie, Jan and Bob) and brought our neighbors Todd and Amy with us...and Heather Hot got lucky enought to join us for a weekend of daughterless enjoyment...although we did bring baby Daniel into the comedy show with us and he slept like a baby, ...wait he is a baby. Then a long time Vernal friend Rachelle (Perry) Neil (now a practicing dentist living in Las Vegas with her husband Scott, also a dentist, and 2 little girls) and her mom LaRae Perry came out here and we all went to Oprah...but it was kindof boring, it was on financal planning...then we went out shopping and blew our budget.

Happy 2nd Birthday Kendyll

Conference was so great . . . I took this picture from my seat on the lower level. We were able to be in the Conference Center for most of the sessions.

On Sunday evening Craig and I went with his brother, Rob, and family to Midway. Rob and Craig played golf on Monday morning. The leaves were changing color and the mountains were georgous! I had forgotten how beautiful it is in Utah this time of year. I'm sure I'll get over it this winter.

Love to everyone, Jill

Happy Birthday Kendyll - you are such a precious little child.
We love you and miss you!

Thanks to Heather, I'm ready to give this a try. This is a picture we took from our window one morning while we were in Hawaii last year. We'll take more pictures now that we can do something with them. Thanks for everyone's contributions. Still waiting for Dylan and Jamie to post pictures of their new son.
Love to all,
Craig and Jill

These are pictures of our little baby boy. He was born on July 6 and weight 6 pounds 6 ounces. We named him Daniel Eugene Rush - after Charlie's Dad. We love to be parents.

Brian with Kendyll in Arizona...when Kendyll and Heather came to visit us in Chicago, Kendyll got attached to Brian...maybe because they have similar looks height and coloring wise. Ever since Kendyll has paid attention to Brian he keeps talking about having a little girl. He loves Kendyll. For more pictures of our family you can log onto karenandbrianmatsen.blogspot.com or leviandheatherhaught.blogspot.com, we'll soon make them links to this website. Love you all, Karen

This is the three grandkids big birthday bash in Arizona! Tyler and Luke insisted on wearing their new superhero pajamas from Grandpa Player and Kendyll doesn't know the meaning of clothes yet. We had a great time!
